The Vineyards at Summerfield – Welcome to the Neighborhood!!
Hello, everyone! Some of us have lived here since the inception of the neighborhood while others are fairly new residents. However, we have just begun our social committee meetings and calendar planning for 2007. There are great things in store for us (adults-only events and families with children events) this year.
Our neighborhood’s very first Children’s gathering was the Easter Celebration held on Saturday, April 7th. There were more than 20 families in attendance on this very cold spring morning (at most, 35 degrees)!
Families started off their morning with doughnuts and orange juice. The Walsh’s cheerfully served lemonade and much-needed hot chocolate as a fundraiser. The monies raised for the refreshments will go into a fund for future children’s events in the neighborhood. Popcorn was also made for everyone.
The children (as well as the adults) were very brave and energetic as they participated in a judged parade from the clubhouse, down the street, and back to the clubhouse. Additionally, there were judged categories in which all children were awarded a unique prize based on their entries. Three simultaneous Easter egg hunts were held in age-appropriate categories and the children were able to find hidden eggs in even the most difficult-to-find places!
Once the egg hunts were completed – traditional competitive games were played by the children such as the three-legged race, wheelbarrow race and egg-carrying race. Prizes were awarded to those children in the top 3 places of each race. The adults had fun (and a few laughs) just watching these races!
Some great comments were made by several families who attended stating this event gave a great sense of community.
Kudos to Cathy Stone for organizing this fun event! Although it was very cold, all of the comments were very positive and this was an extremely successful first-annual Easter Celebration. We look forward to an even larger event in the future.

As a result of the success of The Vineyards Holiday Party in December, we are having another social event that will incorporate foods from all over the world.
We are very fortunate to have such a diverse neighborhood….please come join us and bring your favorite dish that complements your nationality. Cultural beverages are also welcome. This even will be BYOB (so bring wine or other refreshments to your liking)! We plan to have a fun night of social interaction.

Volunteer Committees:
